DIY – Planaria trap
You'll need:
- a film container, half a Kinder surprise egg container, a small Tupperware (C) container or something similar
- gauze, mosquito net, tulle or something along these lines
- cable binders
- raw meat, fish food high in protein etc.
Put the raw meat or the fish food in your container and close it with the gauze, tulle etc. Fasten with the cable binder, put into your tank.
Planaria are predators and scavengers. They often leave their hiding-places after dark, thus it makes a lot of sense to put the trap into your tank after the lights went out. Do not leave it in there longer than an hour at the utmost, you don't want to spoil your water with the raw meat. After half an hour you could check the trap for the first time, empty it and re-stock with bait, if necessary. After all, it might be a tad counterproductive leaving it in the tank until the planarias are full and leave the trap to go digesting in peace.
