A new variant of the Taiwan Bee has come up: the Skunk Pinto.
Mura Kilic, who has already shown and brought several new shrimp and crab species with him from Asia, was able to find another very special shrimp when he went to Aquarama 2013 in Singapore in late May. This variant is sure to make the hearts of many shrimp enthusiasts in all the world beat faster.
Mura’s friend, the shrimp dealer Alvin Chan organised the booth „Aquarist Chamber“, where the interested public did not only find aquaristic products but also some show tanks with highbred dwarf shrimp. In these tanks, Mura spotted two uncommonly patterned shrimp. When talking to Big2Shrimp, the Taiwanese breeder of these optically very impressie specimens and winner of the Asia Pacific Shrimp Contest 2012 in Osaka, Japan, he called this new variant „Skunk Pinto“. This creative name derives from the black-and-white pattern, which reminds indeed very much of a skunk, especially due to the pattern on the head.
The two shrimp Mura has brought with him are probably even nicer in real life – Mura sounded very enthusiastic on the phone -, however, the photos also show how beautiful this new variant is. Both shrimp have a slight blue shadow around the lower abdomen, too.
Many thanks to Mura Kilic and Tina Benneker, who made these impressive photos available to us!
